Gilberto Juarez, 77, passed away on June 21, 2014 surrounded by his loved ones . He was born on March 14, 1937, in Rio Hondo to Jose and Dolores Juarez.
He was preceded in death by his wife Viola Trevino Juarez, his parents Jose and Dolores Juarez, sister Elida Juarez Zuniga and brothers Ramon Juarez and Andres Juarez.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Gilberto is survived by his daughter Veronica Juarez (Gilbert Perez), son Gilberto Juarez Jr. (Veronica Elizondo), and his grandchildren Aaron Basaldua, Adriano Juarez, Mia Pelache and soon to be born Baby Emma Grace Juarez.
He is survived by his sisters Gloria (Robert) Martinez, Juanita Leal, brothers Lupe (Leticia) Juarez and Omar (Gloria) Juarez. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Gilberto will be dearly missed by his beloved family and friends, many of which he met through his love for music and the accordion. He had a passion and love for his ranch animals. He also enjoyed seeing team roping, the outdoors, and ranch life. Gilberto retired from Valco Chemicals Company with over 25 years of service.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at San Benito Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church in Rio Hondo followed by a burial alongside his wife at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Roger Martinez, Lonnie Lopez, Justin Garza, Rene Reyna, Jr., Jose Juarez and Joey Reyna. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruben Basaldua, Ramon Juarez, Jr. Robert Martinez, Jr., Ricardo Martinez, Michael Leal and John Ortega.
