Juan Antonio "John" Mora

Juan Antonio “John” Mora, age 38, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Houston, Texas as a result of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.  John was born in San Benito, Texas to Abel Mora and Lolita Rodriguez and was a graduate of Rio Hondo High School.  He was currently a resident of Pasadena, Texas where he worked as a pipefitter.  John enjoyed sports, especially football and basketball, and loved to fish.

John is survived by his parents Abel Mora (Teresa) and Lolita Rodriguez (Gerald), sister Brenda L. Mora, stepbrother Kevin T. Mora, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Hipolito and Juanita Mora, his maternal grandfather Jose Angel Rodriguez, and cousin Jason Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held at San Benito Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 228 Huisache Avenue, Rio Hondo, Texas.  Funeral services will conclude at the end of the Funeral Mass.

Active pallbearers will be Chris Rodriguez, Joey Rodriguez, Tony Sanchez, Saul Sanchez, Dion Zuniga,III, and Kevin Mora.  Honorary pallbearer will be Rolando Sandoval.

Arrangements are under the direction of San Benito Funeral Home, 1400 W. Hwy 77, San Benito, Texas.
