At the age of 3 the family relocated to Omaha, NE. however, Al spent many summers visiting grandparents which promoted his love of the Rio Grande Valley. Al was known and loved for his sarcastic jokes, loving advice, and for being the strong patriarch glue of the family. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic that he displayed throughout his life. Al’s love for the restaurant industry began with first job at A&W. In 1977, he started at KFC as a cook where he was promoted through several levels of management. In the year 2000 Al and 2 close business associates created the corporation “BAD” where they purchased 16 KFC’s and went on to add Long John Silver’s creating 2 dual concept locations. When Al and his partners sold the KFC’s Al acquired a couple of Godfathers Pizza restaurants which he owned and operated until his retirement in 2022. In retirement Al, lived the dream of owning his own little piece of paradise with his wife, Kaye, near South Padre Island. There he enjoyed a good cigar by his pool or at the beach, meeting new friends and gorgeous sunsets on the bay.
