Alma Speaker Wienen Wiesman died in Harlingen, Texas on November 14, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on November 26, 1929, in Galena, Illinois, Alma was the daughter of William and Josephine Speaker.
In 1952, she married Dorien J. Wienen, and the couple relocated from Galena to Texas, ultimately settling in Harlingen in 1959. After the passing of Dorien in 1995, Alma remarried Albert T. Wiesman in 1999, moving to Haltom City, Texas, where she resided until Albert's death in 2019. Following this, she returned to Harlingen to be closer to her daughter Bonnie, where she resided until her death.
Alma dedicated many years of her life to her career at Leonard’s Liquor Store in Harlingen before her retirement.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Gaylyn Wiesman Fagan-King (Dale) of North Richland Hills, Texas; her son-in-law, Jack (Toby) Skaggs of Harlingen; her grandchildren, Tegan Davis (Morgan) of North Braintree, Vermont, Sheldon Michael Wienen of San Antonio, Texas, and Aaron Fagan (Kelly) of Fort Worth, Texas; along with numerous great-grandchildren. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, William and Josephine Speaker, her children, Ricky Wienen, Michael D. Wienen, and Bonnie Sue Wienen Skaggs, and her siblings, Donald Speaker, Edward (Ned) Speaker, Francis (Frank) Speaker, Orville Speaker, and Mary Speaker Birkett.
In accordance with Alma's wishes, there will be no local services. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
