Bueford Charlie "B.C." Moody

Bueford Charlie Moody, 73, better known as B.C “Bud” Moody or Buddy Moody to most, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Buddy was born September 19, 1949 in Refugio, Texas to Corine Riemenschneider Moody and Bueford Regen Moody. He graduated from Refugio High School in 1966. After graduation, he and his parents moved to La Feria, Texas.

Buddy married the love of his life, Jacqueline “Jackie” Pitts Moody, on October 18, 1974 at Hales County Courthouse in Plainview, Texas while custom harvesting. They lived in La Feria, Texas where Buddy farmed with his dad and later obtained his real estate license selling real estate on the side.  His love for real estate quickly grew and he became a real estate broker and eventually owned his own company, South Texas Realty, as well as becoming the real estate instructor at TSTC for over thirty years. Jackie joined him in the real estate business and together they had a successful career in real estate. Buddy had his real estate license for fifty-two years. He also obtained his auctioneer license and did well as an auctioneer.

He and Jackie were blessed with four boys and one girl.  Buddy was a proud member of Cameron County FONRA (Friends of NRA) for the past twenty years and president the last six years of his life. He loved to officiate football games when younger, go fishing and hunting and supported many community and national organizations like 4-H, Ducks Unlimited, NRA, Harlingen Board of Realtors, GCCA, and numerous more. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for more than forty-five years. He was often referred to as the “other Charlie Daniels” everywhere he went. Jackie and Buddy were married for forty-nine years.

Buddy is proceeded in death by his daughter, Samantha Ann Moody; his parents, Corine and Bueford R. Moody; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Buddy is survived by his children, Jonathan David (Nancy) Moody; Trey Donald (Theresa) Moody; Heather Nicole Moody (Tate) Helmer; Joshua Regen (Sarah) Moody; and Matthew Byron (Debbie) Moody. Buddy is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Cheyenne Dakota Moody, Adrianne May Moody-Crawford, Deborah Renea Moody-Cruz, Kassandra Mary Moody, Bailey Regen Helmer, Tatum Hadley Helmer, Stella Noel Moody, Reese Regen Moody, Kyla Reign Moody, Phoenix Aria Moody, and Kingsley Mya Moody

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Harlingen, Texas with Pastor Ted Elmore officiating.
