Capt. Wiley. Mahurin, 95, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Capt. Wiley was born on October 11, 1911 in Rifle, CO.  He was a longtime resident of the Port Isabel and Los Fresnos area.  He had a great love of fishing and for 35 years was a riverboat captain and the owner/operator of Captain Wiley’s Marine which he started in 1961.
He is survived by his wife, Selma of Bayview; daughters, Selma C. Thornton and Carol C. Thornton; son, Jack D. Mahurin; 22 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy P. Ray and a son, Wiley E. Mahurin.
Memorial services will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Port Isabel, 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2007.
