Carl "Chip" E. Hall, III

C.E. “Chip” Hall III, a lifelong Christian, was born November 29, 1948. He died of natural causes at home in the early hours of Sunday, August 22, 2021.

While completing his studies at UTPA, Chip worked with his father and grandfather at Dabney Hall Insurance Agency and later joined Texas Insurance Managers. Chip was active in Boy Scouts, Jaycees, and Lions in the Harlingen area. The weekly “Guys Table” at Lonnie’s Hometown was a highlight of his life, discussing world problems.

In the presence of our Savior, he rejoins his family Carl E. Hall Sr., Mary S. Hall, Carl E. Hall Jr., Carolyn Dabney Hall, Ruth Nesmith, Arthur F. Dabney, Marguerite Smith Dabney, E.D. McDonald, and Mary Ellen McDonald.

Surviving family includes Phyllis “Annie” Hall (wife of 49 years) and their four-legged companion Pugga; Janie and Lloyd Cage and family; Ann and the late Dr. John Miller and family; Liz Wyman; Jim and Lois McDonald and family; Sharon and Oma Coker and family; Christie Shelander and her children Ryan and Madalyn Fitting (honorary grandchildren of Chip and Annie).

Chip’s gun show friends, hunting friends, insurance clients, church family, Harlingen food pantry volunteers, and extra special friends were thought of daily and their names and funny stories brought a smile to his face and a twinkle to his eye.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. (Click on the link below to view a live-stream of the Celebration of Life service.) A private ceremony will take place at a later date.
