Carolyn Ann Stuart

Carolyn Stuart, 84, of San Benito, TX, passed peacefully to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 21, 2026, after battling health issues for several years.

She was born February 24, 1942, to Floyd and Ethel Cook of Shawnee, OK. Carolyn grew up in the Hazel Dell community and graduated from Dale High School with the class of 1960.

She and husband, Gerald Stuart, moved to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas in 1993 and managed a manufactured home sales business until retirement. Carolyn enjoyed tending her flower beds and feeding the region’s many species of birds, especially the colorful parrots.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Eddie Hall; sister Phyllis Cook; brother Wayman Cook; and brother and sister-in-law Warren and Barbara Cook.

Family left to cherish her memory include her son, Steven Shaw, San Benito, TX, who was a devoted and constant source of loving care; daughter and son-in-law Stephanie and Jay Stringer and family; sister and brother-in-law, Leda and Dennis Glenn; grandchildren, Callie, Courtney, and Kolton Shaw and family, and Laci Denise Shaw; former daughter-in-law Tammy Shaw; nephews and their wives, Gary and Juanita Hall, Kevin and Suzanne Cook, Keith and Pam Cook; and nieces Brenda Hall, Regina Holland and husband Bryan, and Kim Garland and partner Craig Kupec; sister-in-law Linda Cook; and many other extended family and friends.

The family recognizes and appreciates the care provided by Mount Sinai Hospice and Pastor Juan Tapia. Thanks also to neighbors Mark and Elvia Berry, Dagoberto and Elizabeth Garcia and daughters Vanessa and Laura, Rosemary and Joe Aguilera, David Delnay, and Nora Marroquin who assisted throughout Carolyn’s life in Texas, and especially in her final months and days.
