Charles William Wadkins was born on January 15, 1937 to Charles Roy Wadkins and Gladys Rutherford. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Theresa (Terry) Nagy; son, Charles Webb (Shaun); daughter, Bettye Hilton (Pascal); three grandsons, Wayne Ashley (Amanda), Clinton Charles (Mercedes) and Spencer William (Kylie) as well as step grandchildren and a step great granddaughter.
Charles was a lifelong resident of Harlingen, having attended schools in Harlingen and graduating from Santa Rosa High School. He worked in road construction for a number of years and was employed as an inspector for the Texas Department of Insurance until his retirement.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He worked as a volunteer at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show and served on the hog committee for a number of years.
Visitation will be at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm with private burial services.
