Cirildo Piñón

Cirildo Piñón, 83, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, in Harlingen, Texas. He was born in Carreton, San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico on May 22, 1942, to Pascual Piñón and Manuela Mejia Piñón.

Cirildo dedicated 31 years to maintenance department of San Benito Consolidated School District as plumber, a role in which he served with commitment and dedication. He was a faithful member to Saint Therea Catholic Church, where generously volunteered with the religious education program assisting with security.

Cirildo was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Maria Elena Machuca Piñón; his parents, Pascual and Manuela Mejia Piñón; and his siblings. He is survived by his children, Cirildo Piñón Jr., Maricella Gonzales (Johnny), Rolando Piñón (Sonia), Reymundo Piñón, Melissa Piñón (Araceli), and Melinda Piñón (Aneli). He will also be deeply missed by his 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

The Piñón family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Following the Mass Cirildo will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Juan Manuel Gonzales, Aldo Piñón, Alonzo Piñón, Pete Lucio, Polo Hernandez, and Ruben Huerta. Honorary pallbearers are Cirildo Piñón Jr. and Rolando Piñón.
