Cristobal Arturo Garcia, 82, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on August 22, 2025. He was born on December 20, 1942, in San Benito. He was a loving and very devoted husband to Edna K. Garcia and a very loving father to his children and grandchildren. He was a master electrician and sole proprietor of G & G Electric Company of San Benito, Texas, for 34 years. He previously worked for Ling-Temco-Vought (LTV) corporation as an aircraft electrician. He was known for his experience and knowledge in his craft. He was hard-working and dedicated to his profession. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his hobbies.
He loved to go hunting, fishing, and BBQing with his friends and family. Our father was a man of kindness, generosity, integrity, and always loved a good laugh. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Cristobal is survived by his wife, Edna K. Garcia. His three daughters, Yvette M. Fanning (Jim), Mechelle Fowler, Loretta L. Sanchez (John Jay); Eight grandchildren, Kathryn M. Fowler, Alison R. Fowler, Jaylynn N. Sanchez, Christopher R. J. Sanchez, Jaime F. Rojas, Jackie Fanning, Joanne Gaylon, and Travis Fanning. He is also survived by his brother, Reynaldo Garcia, and his aunt, Ofelia Garcia.
He is preceded in death by his baby son, Cristobal Luis Garcia; his parents, Cristobal Jose Garcia and Guadalupe Mata Garcia; his siblings, Raquel E. Garcia Rodriguez, Roberto Garcia, and Rosa Garcia Strenth; his aunts, Pilar Mata and Maria Hinojosa Perez; and his uncles, Jose L. Mata, Humberto Mata, Julian Mata, Eluterio Garcia, and Carlos Garcia.
The Garcia family is very grateful to family and friends who visited him and loved him until the end. On Tuesday, August 26, 2025, the visitation will be held for family and friends starting at 3:00 PM at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. At 7 PM, we will have a rosary.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, visitation with family and friends will start at 10:00 AM. Church service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, followed by committal services to continue at Funeraria Del Angel Mont Meta & Memorial Park.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the wonderful memories we will cherish forever.
