Daniel Wilburn Peters

Daniel Wilburn Peters, 85, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Kinfolk Personal Care Home in Austin, Texas.

Daniel was born September 4, 1938 in Harlingen, Texas to Wilburn and Fannie Peters.  This is where he married, started a career, and raised a family.

He was a volunteer for the Weslaco Fire Department for a few years. Daniel worked for Boggus Ford where he drove a wrecker and he trimmed palm trees as a side job. He also worked as a farmer and did custom work and worked for the Harlingen Irrigation District.

Daniel loved fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.  He also enjoyed using his imagination to create and build new things.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn and Fannie Peters; his brother, David Peters; his son, James Daniel Peters; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Usry and Kyle Peters.

He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Usry (Lloyd); daughter-in-law, Susan Peters; granddaughter, Natasha Foster; and 3 great grandchildren, Tyler, Cason and Addison Foster.

The family will receive friends and family on March 28, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A funeral service will take place on March 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Daniel will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Cason Foster, Tyler Foster, Jeremy Foster, Jerry Foster, Grayson Nichols, and Jamie Nichols.
