Dennis Howard Gamble, 94, formerly of Beaver, Pennsylvania passed away on April 16, 2022 at Valley View Memory Care Center in Harlingen, Texas.
In February 1928, he was born in Leicester, England to Cecil and Gwendolyn (Johnson) Gamble. After serving in the English Royal Navy he moved to the U.S. in 1949. A valued employee, during his 34 year career with Westinghouse Corporation as a Sales and Design Engineer, he designed and was awarded five patents. In retirement, he and his wife, Nancy, had 25 happy years near St. Petersburg, Florida. They moved to Harlingen, Texas in 2016 where he was lovingly cared for by his wife and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Daphne; his first wife, Agnes Zegar; and a daughter, Karen.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Watson Gamble, of Harlingen, Texas; a daughter, Cathy (Michael) Mezmar of Harlingen, Texas; daughter, Carol (Jay) Leeper of Columbia, South Carolina; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a son-in-law; Dean Shellenberger of Alpine, California; a beloved cousin, Audrey, of Hants, England; and numerous nieces and nephews. Per his wishes, there will be no viewing. A private memorial service is planned by the family.
The family wishes to thank all those involved in his care, particularly the staff of Valley View Memory Care, Calidad Hospice, and Dr. Luna-Salazar and her office staff.
