Eduardo McDonald

Eduardo McDonald, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and proud United States Army Veteran of Korea, passed away peacefully at his home on April 27th, 2026, surrounded by his wife and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eusebio and Clara McDonald.

Ed is survived by his wife of 62 years, Esther, his daughter, Elaine (Rick) Arredondo of Weslaco, his son Edward Michael (Celia) McDonald of Pflugerville, his eldest grandson, Edward Joseph (Jessica) Alaniz of Mission. His granddaughters, Krystina (Lupe) Trevino of McAllen, LilyAnn (Efrain) Gomez of Weslaco and Grandsons, Bobby (Lizette Zuniga) Tafolla of Weslaco, James McDonald and Thomas McDonald, both of Pflugerville. 8 great-grandchildren and his little dog, Bingo.

He is also survived by his siblings, Eusebio (Hilda) McDonald, Elvira (+Jesus) Perez, Dora (Manuel) Olivares & Evelyn (Ruben) Montemayor as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The McDonald family will receive friends and family on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Eduardo will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
