Eloisa Estrada Leal, 88, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024 in Floresville, Texas. She was born to Miguel Estrada and Julia Rodriguez Esteban on April 21, 1935 in El Ranchito, Texas.
Eloisa graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education and was employed as a teacher with the Donna Independent School District and San Benito Consolidated Independent School District for 30 plus years.
Eloisa was of the Catholic faith and was very active with St. Ignatius Catholic Church for 45 years. She was an Avon representative for 40 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Julia Estrada and sisters, Maria Irene Lair, Hilda Needles, San Juanita Estrada, and Rosalinda Villegas.
Left to treasure Eloisa’s memory is her husband, Jimmy Leal, her children, Jaime Leal and Cristina Leal Sustaita; her grandchildren, Esteban Leos III (Steve), David Miguel Leos, Ciro Sustaita Jr. (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Jacob Leos, Alysabeth Julia Leos, Alexandra Jasmin Leos (Christian Torres), Taylor Sustaita, Alina Sustaita; her great-great grandchild, Ezra Alexander Torres; and her sister, Frances Esquivel.
The family would like to thank the Hospice staff, Nurse Leslie, and CNA Lessla for the years of care they provided. Also, a thank you to Mary Morales and Maggie Hernandez for caring for Eloisa when she was at home.
The Leal family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 o’clock Friday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Eloisa will be laid to rest at Esparza Cemetery in El Ranchito, Texas.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Esteban Leos III, David M. Leos, Ciro R. Sustaita, Ciro Sustaita Jr., Tanner Smith, Juan Hernandez, Danny Leal, and Jaime Leal.
