Estella Davila Garcia, 90, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died peacefully Saturday, September 4, 2021, surrounded by her daughters, grandsons and close family members. She was born August 3, 1931 to Teodora Davila and Eduardo Molbe and was reared by her mother's sister, Paula Davila in the original Ramón and Rita Quintanilla Davila ancestral home in San Benito. She is now with our Heavenly Father. Our dad and mom and brother are together again in heaven.
Estellita was a warm, kind and loving mother who loved everyone she met. She was a life-long member of Getsemaní Presbyterian Church, formerly Second Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and played the piano in her youth. Her favorite hobby was baking, a talent she learned at San Benito High School and perfected throughout her life as a housewife. Family and friends looked forward to holidays because Estellita always sent around a plate of assorted homemade cookies for all to enjoy. She was also a dedicated member of the San Benito High School Band Booster Club where she volunteered many years in the concession stand. She enjoyed baking cakes and cookies for fundraisers for the club. Her goodies were always sold before she could even get them to the concession stand! Those who knew her baking know what we are saying.
As a San Benito High School graduate of 1952, Estella enjoyed supporting the Greyhounds and her grandsons who played, and was a season ticket holder up until recently. She also loved watching Dallas Cowboy games.
Estella is preceded in death by her parents, her Aunt Paula, her husband of 41 years, Francisco Lionel Garcia, her son Lionel Obed Garcia; on her maternal side, siblings Celia Longoria, Enrique Moreno Jr. and Mateo Moreno; on her paternal side, siblings Olga Molbe and Robert Molbe.
Estella is survived by her daughters Blanca Estella Garcia and Melissa Yvette (Hector) Galvan and daughter-in-law Lydia Garcia; her pride and joy - her grandsons David Saul Muñoz, Jr., Leonel Obed Jr. and LeRoy Obed Garcia. On her father's side, she is survived by her siblings Herman Molbe and Richard Molbe, Dora Molbe Salazar and Nelda Molbe Garza.
The family expresses special thanks to Doctors Frank Torres and Hugo Blake for her care, to Angela Sierra and her neighbor, Maureen Rosales who never left Estellita's side.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are David Saul Muñoz, Jr., Leonel Obed Jr., LeRoy Obed Garcia, Enrique Moreno IV, Daniel H. Garcia, Ryan Molbe, Ray Martínez, Ramón Dávila, Jr.
