Hector F. Guerra

October 15, 1939 — May 2, 2021

It is with a saddened heart that Hector F. Guerra left to be with the Lord on May 2, 2021 after complications from open-heart surgery. Hector was blessed to have been loved by his beloved partner Gracie Pacheco for the last eleven years. He had numerous friends and always making friends with his contagious personality.

Hector graduated from San Benito High School in 1958 where he played football and basketball. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his beloved University of Texas Longhorns. Hector worked for the University of Texas Athletic Department and often shared stories of his experiences meeting football legends Darrel Royal and Earl Campbell, to name a few.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruldofo and Maria Guerra; sister, Gloria Guerra; brother, Rodolfo Guerra; sister-in-law, Elvira Corkill Guerra; and nephews, Rene, Ricardo and Rolando Guerra. He is survived by nephew, Ray Guerra, and nieces, Minerva Sturgill, Norma Guerra, and Grace Guerra Aguirre. He is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a Celebration of Life beginning with visitation on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

All guests are asked to wear a facial covering and practice social distancing while visiting the funeral home.
