Ignacio Galicia Nieto

Ignacio Galicia Nieto, 92, peacefully passed from this life on Sunday, December 26, 2021.   He was born in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico on January 15, 1929 to Antonio and Trinidad Galicia Nieto.  Ignacio was a lifelong farmer and a parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Luisa Nieto; a daughter, Trinidad Alvarez; and his parents Antonio and Trinidad Galicia Nieto.

Left to cherish Ignacio’s memory are his children,  Ignacio Nieto Jr., Irma Estela Nunez, Antonio Nieto, Manuel Nieto, Alicia Nieto, Carlos Nieto, and Danny Nieto (Sarah); grandchildren, Rolando Alvarez, Richard Alvarez, Roger Alvarez, Alfredo Nunez Jr., Christina Nunez, Brenda Nunez, Katherine Marie Nieto, Manuel Nieto Jr., Julie Nieto, Carlos Nieto Jr., Patricia Leal, Priscilla Castillo, Danny Nieto Jr., Marc Nieto, Jenny Nieto and Jacob Garcia; and 27 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by his close friend, Juan Claudio.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Antonio and Carlos Nieto, his sons for their care and support.

The Nieto family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. (Click the link below to view a live-stream of the Rosary service.) A chapel service will take place on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. (Click the link below to view a live-stream of the Chapel service.) Following the Chapel Service, Ignacio will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Danny Nieto, Danny Nieto Jr., Marco Nieto, Mario Rodriguez, Alfredo Nunez Jr., and Nicolas Grant.  Honorary pallbearers are Antonio Nieto, Ignacio Nieto Jr., Carlos Nieto, and Manuel Nieto.
