Ione “Pat” (Isaacson) Amundson

Ione “Pat” Amundson, age 93, passed away on February 27, 2026, at Harlingen Medical Center in Texas, following complications from surgery. Pat was a soft-spoken presence who preferred the comfort of family to the spotlight. She leaves behind a legacy of quiet resilience, a love for life’s simple adventures, and a profound, unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

Pat was born to Bert and Theoline Isaacson on January 18, 1933, in Ubet, Wisconsin. She grew up in Amery, WI and graduated from Amery High School. On May 25, 1958, she married Ozzie Amundson and together, they operated their Standard Oil (later Amoco) business in Ridgeland, Wisconsin. It is here that they raised their three children: Julie, Nancy, and Alan.

Pat’s life was colored by the Great Outdoors and the joy of movement. Whether she was camping, fishing, golfing, or snowmobiling, she embraced the spirit of the Northwoods. She and Ozzie were their children’s biggest fans, never missing a school event. In later years, they found great joy in the rhythm of the seasons, splitting their time between the warmth of San Benito, Texas, and the peaceful shores of the Minong Flowage in Wisconsin.

Pat is survived by her children: Julie (Troy) Larson of Wyoming, MN; Nancy Nelson of San Benito, TX, and Amery, WI; and Alan (Julie) Amundson of Ridgeland, WI. She remains a guiding light for her brother, Alan (Ann) Isaacson; her grandchildren, Scot (Sarah) Larson, Tyler (Triny) Amundson, and Katie (Gus) Amundson; and her precious great-grandchildren, Jack Larson and Ada Amundson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Josie Amundson, and a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ozzie; her granddaughter, Alysha Larson; her in-laws: Otto and Anna Amundson; her sibling-in-laws: Marlys Isaacson, Gerald Amundson, Vern Amundson, Evie Amundson, Ardella Morneau, Eddie Morneau, and Deloris Curtis.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held this summer at the Ridgeland Village Park (199 Main Street, Ridgeland, WI) at a date to be determined.

In the quiet of the Minong Flowage and the warmth of the Texas sun, her spirit remains with us.
