J. David Kelley, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas, at the age of 87. Born on February 7, 1938, in Indianapolis, Indiana, David lived a full and impactful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.
David was the CEO of Petrochem Trucking Company, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and business acumen. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his devotion to his faith, as he was an active member of CFC Harlingen, where he found solace and community. An avid fisherman, David found joy and relaxation in the simple pleasure of spending time by the water, fishing and hunting, a pastime he treasured throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Florence Kelley, his sister Sue Kelley, and his son Tave Kelley David is survived by his loving spouse, Bergitte Kelly; his children, Robin JK Fuentes and David Kelly; his stepchildren, Kristen Lynch and Allan Lynch; and his brother, Dan and Judy Kelly. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Kcassi and Joe Rodriguez and Tito and Krista Fuentes and Madison Lynch, as well as his great-grandchildren, Isabella Jade Fuentes, Ave Gem Fuentes, and Raelynn Rodriguez. David also leaves behind his beloved pets, Tazz, and his dedicated caregiver, Brenda Ponce. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
