Jayne Aurelia Mims

Jayne Aurelia Mims, 79, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in McKinney, Texas. Born on September 9, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of Jack and Lillian Milam. Jayne dedicated over 20 years of her career as a Corporate Executive Secretary before retiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lillian Milam; her brother, Jack Milam; and her son-in-law, Michael Cobb. Jayne is survived by her husband, Lafayette Mims; his children, Dominca Cobb, Marques Mims, and Matthew Mims; her grandchildren Shanice, Jasper, Michelle, Ciera, Jay, Aurelia, Mary,and an expecting grandchild, Jeremiah; as well as her great-grandchildren K’Lee, Leo, Chandler, Jacoby, and Jasmine.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at 2:00 p.m. at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission, Texas.
