With heavy hearts and tremendous gratitude for her life, we mourn the passing of our mother, Jennifer Ann (Jones) Mabry, on September 5, 2026, at the age of 81.

Jennifer was born November 23, 1944, in Harlingen, Texas, and grew up in San Benito, Texas where she was a proud San Benito Greyhound. Memories of her childhood included stories of gathering around Mom Woolam’s table with many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Known for her beauty, charisma, and gift for storytelling, Jennifer had an unforgettable presence. She enjoyed a successful career in newspaper, radio, and television sales before later working in apartment management.

She was the proud mother of daughters, Joan and Gina, along with twins, John and Jeff. She loved her eleven grandchildren and filled her home with pictures and stories of their endeavors. She taught her children that they could achieve anything in life with planning and hard work which instilled life-long confidence and a “can-do” attitude in them. Jennifer delighted in large family gatherings, preparing holiday meals, decorating her home, and sharing stories around the table. She played piano beautifully, enjoyed Elvis and country music, and in retirement found great joy raising her beloved Shih Tzus.

Jennifer is mourned by her children: Joan Santa Maria, John McDonald (Kay), and Gina Rickard (Rob), and is preceded in death by her son, Jeff McDonald.

Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 10:00 am at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home located at 1400 W. Business 77, San Benito, Texas 78586.
