John Anthony Wilson

We are sad to announce the passing of John Anthony Wilson of Rio Hondo, Texas. He died at age 63 on December 18, 2022. John passed away at home after a battle with COPD.

He grew up farming with his family and continued that legacy with his children by becoming a custom harvester. He went on to open a mechanics shop and enjoyed serving the community as a member of the Rio Hondo Volunteer Fire Department for many years. After retiring, he continued to help people with their mechanical needs; he loved anything mechanical.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie “Annie” Wilson; parents, James Wilson, III and Marie H. Wilson; and brother, James E. “Cowboy” Wilson III.

He is survived by his daughter, April Manry (Sonny Rodriguez) of Corpus Christi; son, Robert Manry (Melissa) of Lufkin; and granddaughter, Colbie Manry. John is also survived by his sisters, Becky Wilson, Ruth Wilson, and Linda Goad.
