Jose Luis Guerrero, Sr

Jose Luis Guerrero, Sr. passed away peacefully from this life on July 3, 2026, at his home in Los Fresnos, Tx surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 15, 1946, to Pablo and Carmen Guerrero in San Benito, Texas.

Jose worked as a heavy machine operator for Cameron County for over 35 years. After retirement, Jose enjoyed operating his tractor to tackle various projects around his house. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren.

Jose is preceded in death by his loving spouse Maria Cruz Guerrero, his parents Pablo and Carmen Guerrero, his brothers Pedro Lopez, Santos Guerrero, Alfredo Guerrero, Pablo Guerrero and his sisters Maria Munoz, Elena Salinas and Juana Bejarano.

Left to treasure his memory are his children; sons Joe Guerrero, (Kim), Martin Guerrero (Carmen), Miguel Guerrero and George Guerrero (Blanca); daughters, Dolores (Robert Gomez), and Marissa Hoffman (James); fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jose is also survived by his sisters Dolores Ruiz and Dora Lopez.

The Guerrero family will receive friends and relatives from 1:00pm to 9:00pm on Monday, July 6, 2026, and Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 10:00am to 9:00pm at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will take place at 7:00pm on Monday and Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 am at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Jose Luis will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Joe Guerrero, Martin Guerrero, Miguel Guerrero, George Guerrero, Steven Abrego, Jay Guerrero.
