Jose Guadalupe "Joe" Guzman, Jr.

José Guadalupe “Joe” Guzman, Jr. passed from this life on March 5, 2022 at 45 years of age. Joe was born to Guadalupe Guzman and Juanita Castaneda on August 20, 1976 in Brownsville, Texas.

He was a certified mechanic and a valued employee of Take 5 Oil Change at the time of his death.  In his leisure time, Joe enjoyed dancing, repairing cars and trucks, and spending time with his family and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Manuel and Heriberta Guzman and maternal grandparents Tomas and Sara Castañeda.

Left to treasure Joe’s memory are his children Brandon Joe Guzman (Brenda), Sadie Leann Guzman, José Guadalupe Guzman III, Aaliyah Katelyn Guzman; stepchildren Angel Salazar and Amber Valdovines; grandson Aiden Anthony Guzman; and his parents Guadalupe and Juanita C. Guzman.

The Guzman family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 14, 2022 and Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will begin Monday and Tuesday evenings at 6 o’clock with Rev. Kevin Harris officiating.

A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Chapel A of Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  Following the service, Joe will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Baltazar Guzman, Enrique Guzman, Oscar Guzman, Fidencio Guzman, Angel Salazar, Gabriel Perez, Jaime Gonzalez, and José Guadalupe Guzman III.
