Leonardo G. Ramirez

Leonardo “Leon” G. Ramirez, age 91, of San Benito, TX passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Evangelina Ramirez, brother Francisco Ramirez Jr. sisters Luisa Nieto, Evangelina Urbana and Odelia Cortez.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Manuela Ramirez and their nine children, Lydia Casillas (J. Ines), Leticia Ramirez, Leandro Ramirez, Lucinda Barron (Francisco); Laura Rivas (Edward), Luis Ramirez, Leonardo Ramirez Jr. (Norma), Lloyd Ramirez (Miroslava), and Lynelle Ramirez; his 23 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

His brother Reynaldo Ramirez and sisters Maria Elena Sanchez and Ernestina Meza also survive him.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock on Tuesday evening.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at St. Benedict Catholic Church at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
