Lilia E. Gonzalez

Lilia E. Gonzalez, 68, of San Benito, Texas passed away Monday, April 24, 2023.  Lilia was a loving mother, wife and fulltime homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Leonel M. Gonzalez and her father Juan Escobedo.

Left to treasure Lilia’s memory are her children Eusebia (Pedro) Zavala, Margarita (Francisco) Garcia, Minerva Gonzalez (Juan Medrano), Leonel (Lizette) Gonzalez, Jr., Rosario Gonzalez (Angel Trevino), Lilia (Leonard) Machuca, and Destanie N. Medrano; her grandchildren Peter, Leonel and Greg Zavala, Francisco Jr. and Fabian Garcia, Juan, Angel, Jose D. and Andrew Medrano, Leia Gonzalez, Angel Jr., Allen, Aiden, Amber and Allie Trevino, Leonard Jr. and Leandra Machuca,  and Leonardo Rocha Jr.; and 3 great grandchildren.

Special thanks to the Harlingen Medical Center – ICU staff and Solara Hospital-Harlingen for their kindness and care of Lilia.

Lilia’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. A funeral liturgy will take place Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Lilia will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
