Margarita Galvan

Margarita Martinez Galvan, age 98, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in San Benito, Texas. Born on August 3, 1927, in Lozano, Texas, she was the daughter of Guadalupe and Catarina Martinez.

Margarita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hilario Galvan Jr., and her son, Homer Galvan. She is survived by her children, Diana Galvan, Rene Galvan (Pam), and Velma Perez (Joe). Additionally, she leaves behind her grandchildren: Steven, Jason, Christopher Galvan (Denise), Kim and Angie Galvan, Krystal Contreras (Andy), and Mark Perez (Victoria), alongside 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to DHR Hospice Services, particularly Bea and Maria, and to Lucy and Norma of Hopes House for their compassionate care.

The Galvan family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Monday evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Margarita will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mark Perez, Andy Contreras, Ayden Contreras, Jason Galvan, Lupe Martinez, and David Martinez.
