Maria Anita Gonzalez

Maria Anita Gonzalez, age 100, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2026, in Brownsville, Texas. Born on October 13, 1925, in Laureles, Texas, she was the daughter of Alcadio Sanchez and Guadalupe Garza Sanchez.

Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norberto Gonzalez. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Candelaria Rodriguez (Salvador), Gloria Gascon, Jesus Gascon (Sabina), Lucia Gonzalez (Tomas), Dora Gudino, Graciela Munoz (Robert), and Cynthia Gonzales. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Veronica Cavazos, Jesus Tamayo Jr., Rina Tamayo, Ramiro Gudino Jr., Gerardo Gudino, Michael Gudino, Amanda Hernandez, Adrian C. Gonzalez, Krystal Gonzalez, Benito Munoz Jr., Ashlee Munoz, Alyssa Keller, Jared Keller, Jesus Gascon Jr., Ricardo Gascon, and Lourdes Vallejo.

The Gonzalez family will be receiving friends and family on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home, with a prayer service from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Services will conclude following the prayer service.
