Marshall leaves behind not just a family, but a way of seeing the world — with a quiet appreciation for the beauty that surrounds us. Those who loved him will carry his spirit with them in every adventure yet to come.

Marshall was born and raised in South Texas, where his love for adventure and knack for getting into a little trouble began early in life. A man of few words, he had a way of making life interesting and inventing fun for his children.

He deeply loved nature and felt most at home outdoors — whether exploring, traveling, spending time near the water, or simply enjoying the beauty around him. That appreciation for the outdoors became a lasting part of the memories he created with his family.

Alongside his wife, Jeanette, Marshall traveled internationally through his work on oil rigs, creating memories and stories across the world. Eventually, they settled in East Texas, where they raised their three children — Dawn, William, and Andrew — along with the many pets that were always part of the family.

After retirement, Marshall and Jeanette made their home in Port Isabel, where they enjoyed the beach, coastal life, and continued traveling together whenever they could.

Marshall will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, quiet nature, deep love for his family, and the unpredictable fun he brought into the lives of those around him. He leaves behind countless memories, stories, laughter, and a love of adventure that his family will carry with them always.

Marshall is survived by his children, Dawn Manirath (frog/sweet D) and husband Ainoy (short skinny), William Hoverson (tricky/tall skinny) and wife Dawn (d dos), and Andrew Hoverson; his grandchildren, Juliette Torres, Addisyn Manirath, Sawyer Manirath, and Connor Hoverson; his great-grandchildren, Astrid, Iris, and Este.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 plus years, Jeanette Rita Mundell Hoverson, and his parents, Irene Schwarz Hoverson and Phillip Marshall Hoverson.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 29th at 11:00 AM at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, Texas 78572. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Homes for Our Troops, https://www.hfotusa.org/ an organization close to Marshall's heart, in honor of his service and love of country or the Fisher House, https://connect.fisherhouse.org/campaigns/In-Memory-of-Marshall-Hoverson.
