Marvin Dean Knetzer “Grandpa”, age 92, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Brownsville, Texas. Born on June 7, 1933, in Erie, Kansas, he was the son of Keith Oscar Knetzer and Mary L. Knetzer.

Marvin completed his education at Erie High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Pittsburgh State University in Kansas on May 29, 1958. He honorably served as a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Korean War and was discharged in 1955. Marvin began his professional career with Phillip Petroleum Company, where he dedicated 18 years before retiring. Later, he owned and operated Original Rock Replicas for 47 years until his retirement.

A member of the Inventors Association and a skilled skeet shooting marksman, Marvin was an avid bird hunter and inventor. He was also a devoted Lutheran who enjoyed golf and billiards.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Mary Knetzer; his spouse, Sharon Knetzer; his siblings Leory Knetzer, Darrell Knetzer, Ronald Knetzer, Merle Greve, and Karen Myers; as well as three nephews.

He is survived by his children Mark Knetzer (Laura), Marla Carruth Knetzer (Tom Kleven), and Jeffrey Knetzer (Michelle); his sister Margaret Delores Knetzer; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and fifteen nieces and nephews.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Ebony Lake Nursing & Rehabilitation in Brownsville, Dr. Mark Weisberg, Greater Valley Hospice, and the community of Sunset Palms RV Park in Brownsville for their support and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Ships, honoring Marvin’s legacy of service and generosity.
