Matthew Minor

Matthew Minor passed from this life on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at age 56.  He was born to Hubert Glen and Katherine D. Minor on May 4, 1965 in Harlingen, Texas.

Matthew was a 1984 graduate of San Benito High School. He grew up farming and loved it.  It was on the farm that he learned to drive a truck at the age of eight.

He was a valued employee of Redi Mix in Denton, Texasfor nine years he was a shop foreman.  Matthew was twice recognized as Employee of the month at Redi Mix. He was a diesel mechanic all his adult life until 2013 when he was injured at work. He was later employed by Knight Transportation and Dart Transportation. For three years, he used his welding skills as an employee of the Harlingen Irrigation District.

In his leisure time, Matthew enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in the yard, welding, and barbecuing for his family and friends.

He was a member of the La Feria United Methodist Church.

Matthew was preceded in death his parents, Hubert G. and Katherine D. Minor; brother, Steve Glenn Minor; sister, Deborah Minor; mother-in-law, Mary Biela; longtime close and dear friend, Bradley Smith; the family’s first pet cocker spaniel, Sammy; and his other pet and “partner in crime”, Marley.

Left to treasure Matthew’s memory is his loving wife, Charlene M. “Beans” Minor; brother, Jeff S. (Debbie) Minor; and his nephew whom he loved and adored, Jeffrey Dale Minor.
