Miguel Padilla, Sr.

Miguel Padilla Sr., 88, peacefully passed away on February 18, 2026, in San Benito, Texas. Born on October 18, 1937, in San Pedro, Texas, he was the son of Isabel and Petra Padilla.

Miguel was known for his love of fishing, music, and the adventures he experienced as a truck driver. He built a life filled with cherished memories and passions that reflected his vibrant spirit.

He is preceded in death by his father, Isabel Padilla; his mother, Petra Fonseca Padilla; and his six siblings. Miguel is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Padilla, and their children: Marina Castillo (Juan Jose), Miguel Padilla Jr. (Barbara), Maricelda Leal (Ramiro), Martin Padilla (Irma), Mario Gerardo Padilla (Patricia), Marcos Padilla (Alma), Monica Padilla, Maribel Fuentes (Tito), and Mauricio Padilla (Diana). His legacy continues through his 29 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He is also remembered by his siblings, Adalberto Padilla, Jose Isabel Padilla, and Marcela Pizano.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Gentiva Hospice and caregivers Antonia Ambriz, Lupita Cortez, and Amalia Lerma for their compassionate care.

The Padilla family will receive friends and family on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Miguel will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Miguel Padilla Jr., Martin Padilla, Mario Gerardo Padilla, Marcos Padilla, and Mauricio Padilla.
