Nghi Pham Kroll

February 12, 1952 — December 24, 2021

Nghi Pham Kroll passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 after a brief illness.  Nghi was born on February 12, 1952 in Dô Son, North Vietnam.

As a child, she immigrated to South Vietnam with her family, where she grew up and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.  With the fall of Saigon in 1975, she and her family escaped to the U.S., where they settled in Huntsville, Texas.  There in Huntsville, Nghi earned a Master of Fine Arts from Sam Houston State University in studio art, met, and married her husband of 42 years, Dr. Mark Kroll. The couple lived abroad and in various locations across the south before moving to the Valley in 2010.  Nghi’s watercolor paintings were displayed in various retail galleries across the south, and she also taught studio art and drawing at various institutions.  Among Nghi’s other passions were gardening and fashion design.

She is survived by her husband Mark, her mother Ty Pham, her brother Tuan Pham and his wife Hiep Pham, her sisters Dr. Vinh Pham Hick and Trang Pham Lim and their husbands Dr. Todd Hick and Dr. Rodney Lim, as well as her mother-in-law Margaret Kroll and sister-in law Judy Kroll.  She also leaves behind two nieces, Diane and Christine Pham and a nephew, Ryan Lim.

Nghi will be remembered by all those who knew and loved her as strong, generous, and courageous.

A private service will be held at a future date in Huntsville, Alabama.
