Oralia (Nava) Mendoza

Oralia Nava Mendoza, 90, born July 3, 1931, went to be with our Lord on February 12, 2022 at her residence.

A lifetime resident of San Benito from El Jardin, Oralia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Left to cherish Oralia’s memory are her children, Adriana Obregon (Alvaro), Antonia Calderon (José María), Alfredo Mendoza (Dolly), María D. Mendoza, Javier Mendoza (María), Rosa Chavez, Quirino Mendoza (María), Rosa Ana Ramirez, Jaime Mendoza (Celia), Laura M. Carrizales (Willie), María del Carmen Martinez, Dora M. Andrade (Agustin), and Diana Ramos; 49 grandchildren, 93 great-grandchildren, and 18 great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Quirino Mendoza; her son, Juan Mendoza; her grandsons, Alvaro Obregon, Jr. and Mark Anthony Andrade; granddaughter, Jamie Marie Mendoza; great-grandchildren, Valerie Lopez, Zydane Mateo Guajardo, and Antonio Juaquin Ramirez.

Oralia’s family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A Christian prayer service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. (Click the link below to view a live-stream of the prayer service.)

Visitation will continue Friday, February 18, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Catholic recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m. (Click the link below to view a live-stream of the recitation of the Holy Rosary.)

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito. Following the Mass, Oralia will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Alfredo Mendoza Jr., Randy Andrade, Rico Carrizales, Abraham Martinez Jr., Ramon de la Rosa Mendoza, Eutiquio Calderon, Quirino Mendoza III, Reynaldo Chavez Jr., Javier Mendoza Jr., and George Arguelles Jr.  Hector Obregon will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
