Patricia Sue Anderson Cooke

Patricia Sue Anderson Cooke , 76 went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday September 28, 2023, at her home in Houston, Texas . She was born to G.C. and Joyce Anderson on December 16, 1946 in Harlingen, Texas and lived most of her life in Harlingen, Texas.

Pat was a 1965 graduate of Harlingen High School . Immediately following graduation, she attended nursing school and became an LVN, working in emergency rooms in Beaufort, SC and Harlingen, TX.  A few years later she became an RN and eventually started working as a home health nurse and director of nurses for Rio Grande Home Health Agency in Harlingen and ElderCare Home Health Agency in San Benito.  She also spent a good part of her career teaching medical and CNA classes to high school students at Harlingen High School and Harlingen High School South, as well as South Texas High School for Health Professions, where she worked until retirement.

Her favorite hobbies included sewing, shopping, and going to holiday markets with her daughters, granddaughters, and great-granddaughter. She loved Christmas and has sewn a Christmas stocking for each and every family member.

Pat was one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and her love poured out on all those around her through her kindness and self-sacrifice. She had a heart for serving others that was evidenced in every aspect of her life.  The most important thing to Pat, second only to her relationship with Jesus Christ, was the love and adoration she had for her family. She loved them well, and she made sure that everyone knew how much she loved and adored them.

Left to treasure Pat’s memory are her daughters Cathy Wynn and Jennifer Cooke ; her son (in-law) Jeff Wynn; five grandchildren: Chanise (Joe) Wynn-Martinez, Jaedon Wynn, Amaryst Wynn, Camdon Wynn, and Anthony Andrade; and three great grandchildren: Brecca, Jack, and Jaziel Martinez, all of Houston, Texas. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Jack” Cooke Jr., and infant daughter Priscilla Sue Cooke; her parents G.C and Joyce Anderson; sister Catherine Gordon; brother William Anderson; and several aunts and uncles.

The Cooke and Wynn Families will receive friends and relatives Thursday October 5, 2023 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Friday October 6,2023 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Funeral services will conclude at the close of the service.
