Peggy Ann Long Reeves, born January 12, 1942 in Houston, Texas, died November 13, 2022 in in Harlingen, Texas where she lived with her husband Bill Little.
Peggy lived a life rich with talent and friends. She traveled extensively as an accomplished country singer, playing guitar, piano, fiddle, and drums. Her musical talents stretched to write and record gospel music.
She attended San Jacinto High School and graduated from Jones High School, both in Houston. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts received a B.A. and M.A. from Sam Houston State University and a Masters in Theology from Dallas Theology Seminary.
She was a successful businesswoman who first built a real estate brokerage firm and then a medical insurance brokerage firm. At 80 years of age, Peggy was still active aiding senior citizens select Medicare insurance.
In her most recent years of battling cancer, Peggy sought relief from her pain. She celebrated what she called “little joys” walking out her back door, smiling as she watched the beauty of her flowers blossom.
The center of her heart, however, was the extensive network of lifelong friends dating back to early years at Camp Peniel, and the Harlingen community and the Lighthouse Church, and most important…her family.
Her strength and courage have always served to inspire those blessed to know Peggy.
She is survived by her son, Scott Reeves and wife Ginny Howard, her grandson Noble Reeves and her sister, Tommie Lejeune and husband Mike Lejeune. Peggy is predeceased by her son John Reeves, her father Thomas Jefferson Long, mother Lurline Vivian McClelland, brothers Michael and Thomas, and sister Elizabeth Weldon.
Graveside service and interment will take place Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
