Ramiro G. Robles

Ramiro G. Robles, 86, passed away peacefully September 10, 2023in Harlingen, Texas.  He was born to the late Marciano Robles and Leonarda Moya Garza on November 9, 1936 in San Benito, Texas.

Ramiro proudly served his country as Corporal E-4, US. Coast Guard and U.S. Marine Corps. He graduated with a master’s degree in Spanish.   Ramiro was employed as a teacher for Mercedes Elementary and retired after many years of dedicated service.

He was of the catholic faith. In his leisure time, Ramiro enjoyed football, swimming, traveling, and coin collecting.

Ramiro was preceded in death by his parents, Marciano Robles and Leonarda De Moya; his siblings, Roberto Robles (Santos), Lupita Robles, Gloria Robles Butler (Frank), Rolando Robles (Dalia); and brother-in-law, Daniel Moreno.

Left to treasure his memory is his wife, Mary Robles; his step-children, George Medeles and Elizabeth Gonzalez (Martin); his grandchildren, Samantha Castaneda (Guillermo), Timothy R. Ramirez (Victoria), David Ramirez Jr. (Mariah), Christopher Gonzalez, Cristina Gonzalez (Tony); 10 great grandchildren; and his sister, Irma Robles Moreno.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Juanita, Perla and Victoria for their care.

The Robles family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock on Wednesday evening.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Following the mass, Ramiro will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Rolando M. Robles, Rolando M. Robles Jr., Gilbert De La Fuente, Derrick Leal, Bryan Spielman, and Raymond Robles.
