Raquel O. Rodriguez

Raquel O. Rodriguez, 83, passed away on March 8, 2026, in Brownsville, Texas. She was born May 16, 1942, in Villagrán, Tamaulipas to Arturo Olmos Rubio and Aurelia Olmos Delgado.

Raquel cherished her animals, finding joy in caring for her beloved parrots, especially her beautiful macaw, as well as her chickens and peacocks, which added beauty and happiness to her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Rodriguez, as well as her daughter, Gloria Rodriguez and her sons, Ruben Rodriguez, and Jose Luis Rodriguez.

Raquel is survived by her children, Rene Rodriguez (Estela), Diana Gomez (Pedro), Miguel Angel Rodriguez (Belma), Juan N. Rodriguez (Tina), Ramon Rodriguez (Consuelo), Maria del Carmen Torres (Oscar), Jamie E. Rodriguez (Esmeralda) and Vivana Rodriguez, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Los Fresnos Pharmacy and DaVita Brownsville Renal Center and their staff for the compassionate care they provided Raquel, enhancing the quality of her life.

The Rodriguez family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, Raquel will be laid to rest at Los Cuates Cemetery in Los Fresnos, Texas.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Oscar Torres III, Jaime Ray Rodriguez, Crystal Rodriguez, Justin Rodriguez, Joel Rene Gomez, Pedro Gomez III, John Tyler “JT” Rodriguez, and Joseph Michael Rodriguez.
