Richard Allen Darrow, born December 11, 1944, in Abilene, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by loyalty, service, and devotion to family.
The son of Herbert A. Darrow and Hazel A. Runyon Darrow, Richard grew up alongside his brother, Herbert “Bud” Darrow II, who preceded him in death. On February 12, 1966, Richard married the love of his life, Joyce S. Davis, beginning a marriage that would span a lifetime. Together, they built their home and raised their family in Wichita, Kansas, where they shared countless memories.
Richard served honorably in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class in the Security/K-9 Unit, completing one tour of duty in Vietnam. His service reflected the strength, discipline, and dedication that defined him both in uniform and in everyday life.
Above all, Richard was a family man. He was a devoted husband, a proud father to Donnie & Karen Darrow, David & Dani Darrow, and Daniel & Kelly Darrow, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather to ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply.
Richard will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
