Rick D. Alf

Rick D. Alf, 68, entered into rest to be with our Lord on March 25, 2023.  Rick was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin October 14, 1954.  He was baptized and later confirmed in the Lutheran Church in New Berlin, Wisconsin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Duane D. Alf and Delrose Alf, also from Wisconsin.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Marilu Alf, of Laguna Vista, Texas; siblings, Randy (Vicky) of New Berlin, Wisconsin; Cindy Pergande (Hank) of Palmyra, Wisconsin and Michael Alf (Julie) of Mukwonago, Wisconsin. Rick also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends to enjoy his memory.

Everyone that knew Rick knew his love for the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, his Milwaukee Brewers, along with the San Antonio Spurs, plus almost every other sport.

Along with golf and fishing, Rick’s other great enjoyment was the arts. Rick served as treasurer of El Paseo Arts Foundation. He enjoyed acting, singing, but mostly directing musicals. He also loved to perform with Valley Voices Chorale of the lower Rio Grande Valley.

Rick had a great passion for travelling. Throughout his lifetime, Rick was very blessed to able to see many of God’s beautiful creations on this earth.

Whenever you think of Rick, always remember him wearing one of his expressive T-shirts he was known to wear.

Services for Rick will be held April 15, 2023 at Chapel By The Sea on South Padre Island. A Catholic Rosary will be prayed at 12:00 p.m. followed by a Christian Service at 1:00 p.m.

Immediately following the services, a Celebration of Life will be held at the South Padre Island Golf Clubhouse located at 1 Ocelot Trail Rd., Laguna Vista, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to El Paseo Arts Foundation Scholarship Fund (www.elpaseoarts.org) or Valley Voices Chorale Scholarship Fund.
