Roberto H. Pedraza

Jun 5, 1952 — Aug 30, 2026

Roberto H. Pedraza, 74, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family.

Roberto was born on June 5, 1952, to Rogerio and Maria Pedraza. A lifelong resident of La Paloma, Texas, he was born and raised at La Esperanza Farms, where his deep love for the land began and remained with him throughout his life.

Roberto had a true passion for farming and ranching and especially enjoyed baling hay. Working the land was more than just work to him—it was a way of life and something that brought him great pride and joy.

He was an avid football fan who especially loved college football and proudly cheered for his favorite team, the Texas Longhorns. Roberto also loved watching Westerns, especially those starring his idol, John Wayne. He had a great love for music and loved to dance.

Those who knew Roberto will always remember his unmistakable laugh—a laugh that could light up a room and bring a smile to everyone around him. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to family and friends whenever they needed him. He enjoyed the simple things in life and treasured spending time with those he loved. Whether working the land, watching football or a favorite Western, listening to music, dancing, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, Roberto created memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Above all, Roberto was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His family meant so much to him, and his beloved granddaughter, Alivia June Pedraza Flores, held an especially precious place in his heart.

Roberto was preceded in death by his parents, Rogerio and Maria Pedraza; his sisters, Delia Pedraza and Minerva Pedraza; and his nephew, Rudy Pedraza Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Olivia Zepeda Pedraza; his children, Sandra Pedraza (Toby Flores), Robert Pedraza Jr., Roger Pedraza, Roxanne Pedraza, and Analisa Pedraza; and his beloved granddaughter, Alivia June Pedraza Flores.

He is also survived by his brothers, Rodolfo Pedraza (Emilia), Rogerio Pedraza (Josepha †), and Reymundo Pedraza (Toni), as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

The Pedraza family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Following the Mass, Roberto will be laid to rest at Zepeda Cemetery in El Ranchito.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Pedraza, Robert Pedraza, Rey Pedraza, Marc Pedraza, Javier Pedraza, and Chuy Escamilla.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Romeo Longoria Jr. and Toby Flores.

Roberto leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy rooted in family, hard work, generosity, laughter, and love. His presence will be deeply missed, but the sound of his laughter, the stories he shared, the helping hand he so freely offered, and the love he gave will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The Pedraza family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Valley Baptist Medical Center for the care, compassion, and kindness shown to Roberto and his family during his final days.

May his memory live on through the family he loved, the land he cherished, and the countless lives he touched.
