Rogelio G. Villarreal, age 92, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026. Born on November 16, 1933, Rogelio immigrated to the United States as a young man, where he built dedicated career as an electrician.
After gaining years of experience, he established his own successful electrical contracting company. Through his strong work ethic and expertise in his trade, Rogelio earned the respect and trust of the community, countless clients and colleagues.
Beyond his professional life, Rogelio was an entrepreneur at heart. He owned and operated two local establishments, La Orquídea and La Rosita, which became gathering places for friends and neighbors. His Friday chicken and fish barbecues were especially well known and remembered by many.
Rogelio was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, often sharing his passion and stories from the field with friends and acquaintances.
Rogelio is survived by his loving family: his son, Rogelio Villarreal Jr.; his stepdaughter, Elaine Flores; his grandson, Blair Polh; his nephew, Manuel Villarreal (Olivia), and their children Yvette, Javier, Vanessa, and Julie; as well as many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Rogelio was preceded in death by his son, Rolando Villarreal, his ex-wife Celia Rocha Villarreal, his Life partner Rosa Flores, his sisters, Maria Luisa Tena, Julia Irene Villarreal, and Rebecca Martinez Villarreal.
Rogelio’s resilience, love of the outdoors, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep commitment to his family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home, 1400 W. US Highway 77, San Benito, TX 78586, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
