Rosalinda Ruiz

Rosalinda “Bibi” Ruiz, age 56, peacefully passed away on May 26, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas. Born on October 24, 1968, in Fremont, Ohio, she was the daughter of Olivio “Lee” Ruiz Jr. and Elena Segovia Ruiz.

Bibi was a dedicated volunteer at Ed Downs Elementary School and was a cherished provider for many friends. She had a passion for crossword puzzles, enjoyed lottery tickets, and loved watching television shows such as "Yellowstone," "The Price is Right," and the news. An enthusiastic pool player and dancer, she cherished gatherings with her family, especially her beloved service dog, Casper. Bibi was a devoted grandmother and took great joy in her grandchildren. Known for her hard work and unwavering support for the Dallas Cowboys, she was a proud member of the Hollywood Club.

Bibi is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Elena Ruiz; her brother, Olivio Ruiz III; her sister, Ana Maria Villarreal (Frank); and her in-laws, Eduardo and Guadalupe Guzman.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Cesar Guzman; her children, Cesar Guzman Jr. (Amanda), Johnny Lee Ochoa (Karla), Jessica Lee Guzman (Marco), and Selena Marie Guzman; and her beloved grandchildren, Sarah Guzman, Aiden Guzman, Andrea Guzman, Adalynn Guzman, Gabriella Ochoa, Julia Ochoa, Mateo Ochoa, and Nicole Guzman. Also surviving are her sisters, Deana Ruiz, Ida Ruiz, and Chrissy Ruiz, along with the Guzman family, extended family members, nieces, nephews, friends, and her service dog, Casper.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU Unit at Valley Baptist Medical Center and Solara Hospital, with special thanks to Nurse Robert Garcia, Marco, Erik, and Marissa for their exceptional care.

The Guzman family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 o’clock Sunday evening. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Following the service Bibi will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jessica Guzman, Selena Guzman, Cesar Guzman Jr. (Amanda), Marco Melendez, John Ochoa (Karla) and Eduardo Guzman Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be her husband, Cesar Guzman, Frank Villarreal (Ana), and Nereida Guzman-Stolp.
