Rosendo Torres, Jr.

Rosendo Torres, Jr., 44, peacefully passed from this life on July 27, 2021 after a brief illness.  A San Benito native, Rosendo was born to Rosendo Torres, Sr. and Gloria Ninfa Torres on April 16, 1977.

He was a proud Rio Hondo High School Bobcat, graduate of the RHHS Class of 1996.  He was employed by G4S Secure Solutions USA at the time of his death.

In his leisure time, Rosendo enjoyed fishing, going to the beach, and playing basketball with his pet boxer, Brownie.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Rosendo’s family wishes to thank the nurses at Valley Baptist Medical Center ICU for their compassionate care of their loved one.

Rosendo was preceded in death his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Left to treasure his memory is Rosendo’s loving wife, Sonya; children, Aaron Jordan Torres, Evan Humberto Torres, Isaac Torres, Clarissa Yvette Rios, Pedro Santiago Rios, Jorge Santiago Rios, Jr., and Tatayana Torres; his parents, Rosendo, Sr. and Gloria N. Torres; his siblings, Bertha Torres (David Contreras), Mary Torres (Johnny Barrientos), Janie Torres, Nora (Ruben) Garcia, Gloria (Joe) Le, Sigifredo Torres, and Elizabeth Torres; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved boxer Brownie.

The Torres family will receive relatives and friends at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock. Funeral services for Rosendo Torres, Jr. will conclude Thursday evening.

The family has requested that all guests wear a facial covering and practice social distancing while visiting the funeral home .
