Susan Jane Fox

Susan Jane Fox, age 73, departed peacefully for her heavenly home on January 16, 2021 in Brownsville, Texas.  She was born on July 4, 1947 to Jesse E. Fox, Jr. and Doris Jean Brady in Stephenville, Texas.

Susan grew up in San Benito, Texas and graduated from San Benito High School in 1964.  She was an outstanding student and was awarded various scholarships.  She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas.

She served the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District for 27 years and the Brownsville Independent School District for 15 years.  She was a teacher, principal, and eventually Assistant Superintendent for Brownsville ISD.  Susan was an exceptionally dedicated and outstanding educator.  She was awarded the Region One Association of Texas Professional Educators (ATPE) Administrator of the Year Award.

Susan was a life-long member of the First Christian Church of San Benito and attended International Christian Center in Brownsville in her later life.  She lived a genuine Christian life and demonstrated her love for God by loving others and putting others before herself.  She was always very kind and generous and ready to help anyone in need.  Susan was truly a Good Samaritan!

She was preceded in death by her parents.  Susan is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, David and Julie of Austin, Texas, her niece Susan Jean of Austin, Texas, and several cousins.

Susan was a wonderful sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend.  She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

The family is thankful for her life and the gifts of love she shared.  A special thank you and appreciation to Susan’s primary care physician, Dr. Oladayo Sanusi, and her nurses and caregivers for their excellent care over the years.

Susan was truly blessed to have you all in her life. May she rest in peace.
