Tamara Lynn Carpena

Tamara Lynn Carpena, age 21, passed away on December 24, 2024, in Brownsville, Texas. Born on October 22, 2003, in Phoenix, Arizona, she was the beloved daughter of Hector Alfonso Carpena Jr. and Felicia Lynn Hill. Tamara was a proud graduate of Harlingen High School.

Tamara had a vibrant personality and enjoyed a variety of activities that brought her joy. She had a passion for coloring and cherished moments spent at the beach. Whether it was making or enjoying coffee, penjamin, playing video games, or reading, she delighted in every moment. Additionally, she loved shopping, collecting stuffed animals, and indulging in sushi and hibachi. Music was an essential part of her life, often enjoyed at high volumes, and she was known for her adventurous spirit, especially while driving. Tamara also showed a talent for makeup and lashes and had a special love for animals, particularly her Puppy Girl.

Tamara leaves behind cherished memories with her family. She is survived by her father, Hector Alfonso Carpena Jr.; her mother, Felicia Lynn Hill; her stepfather, Robert McNitt; her stepmother, Adriana Grimaldo; and her siblings, Tashia Lomas, Dravin Hill, Shyla Camarena, Jacob Antonio Carpena, Sierra Carpena-Suazo, and stepsister Genna McNitt. She is also remembered by her aunts, Rachel Hill and Sonia Carpena; her uncles, Tony Carpena and Ricky Carpena; cousin Nataucha Legge; and her grandmothers Shirley Carpena and Charlotte Baily, and grandfather, Jody McNitt. Additionally, she leaves behind her Puppy Girl, Aria and her dear friends, Miranda Mena, Alyssa De La Fuente, and Sam Gonzales.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A celebration of Tamara’s life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, where services will conclude.
