Velia V. Farias

Velia V. Farias, 92, passed away peacefully June 26, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas. Velia was born August 13, 1932, in Mexico to Miguel Vento and Petra Gonzales.

A devoted member of Lirio de los Valles Church, Velia consistently contributed to church activities and fundraisers, reflecting her dedication to her faith and community.

Velia is preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Farias and her sons, Tomas Farias, Miguel Angel Farias, and Jose Salvador Farias. She is survived by her children, Noemi (Francisco) Contreras, Nelly (Mario) Rada, Arnoldo (Diana) Farias, Evelia (Keith) Crampton, Petra (Alberto) Macias, Zoila M Tapia, Ismael (Mari Cruz) Farias, Gerardo (Patricia) Farias, and Elijio Farias. She leaves a lasting legacy of love that includes 29 grandchildren, along with 35 great grandchildren.

The Farias family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nelly Rada, Mario Rada, and family for their unwavering support and care, as well as to Maricela Martinez for her years of dedication.

The Farias family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7 o’clock Friday evening. A funeral service will take place Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Lirio de los Valles Church. Following the service Velia will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ismael Farias, Jerry Farias, and Alberto Macias.
