Alfonso “Pollo” Lopez, III passed unexpectedly on November 17, 2022 at the age of fifty-one. He was born September 16, 1971 to Alfonso Lopez, Jr. and Marcela Lopez in San Benito, Texas.
Alfonso attended San Benito CISD schools and was a proud graduate of San Benito High School. He went on to receive his certification as a truck driver. He was employed by Reveille Trucking at the time of his death. He loved his chosen profession and was a hard worker.
When he wasn’t on the road, Alfonso enjoyed being with his family and barbecuing for them. He loved his vehicles, his jewelry, and the outdoors. He was a devoted son to his parents, they were his world. He always had a smile that would light up any room.
He was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of San Benito.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Lopez; and grandparents, Juan and Juana Lopez, and Alfonso Lopez and Manuela Rodriguez.
Left to treasure his memory are Alfonso’s parents, Alfonso Lopez, Jr. and Marcela Lopez; his brother, Antonio Lopez; his sister, Esmeralda Lopez De La Rosa; his nephews, Juan Antonio Lopez and Christian Enrique Lopez; his niece, Lisa Lopez (Rafael Moreno); his great-niece, Lisa Nevaeh Lopez, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, December 1, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock each evening in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Alfonso will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Ismael Saldaña, Rafael Moreno, Leo Rodriguez, Hector Zamora, Roel Hernandez, Ramiro Lara, Joey Salcido, and Jaycobe Moreno. Antonio Lopez will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
