Dolores García Cortez

Dolores García Cortez, 86, passed peacefully from this life on July 11, 2021 surrounded by her husband and children. She was born to the late José García Duarte and Cecilia Martínez García on April 30, 1935 in Tampico, Tamaulipas, México.

She was preceded in death by her parents, José García Duarte and Cecilia Martínez García; son, Rodolfo Cortez; and daughter Mary Lou Cortez.

Left to treasure her memory are her husband, Rogerio Cortez; her children, Roger Cortez, Robert Cortez, and Rosie Cortez; grandchildren, Valerie Paredes, Roger Anthony Cortez, Mia Sara Cortez, Frank Skinner, Danny Skinner, and Michelle Lola Skinner; great granddaughter, Viviana Isabella Paredes; sister, María Elena Mancillas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.  A Prayer Service will begin at 7 o'clock on Wednesday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at San Benito Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Romeo Mancillas, Jr., Joel Cortez, Juan Ramón García, Oscar Cantú, Adrian González, and Eric Villarreal.
